The harbor Tufted Puffin sits on Port Avenue at the Seward waterfront, a short walk from the small-boat harbor and the Alaska SeaLife Center. Because it operates out of a freestanding building, it can take advantage of the piece of Alaska’s onsite consumption rules that Anchorage retailers can’t — indoor smoking and vaping are allowed here, not just edibles.
The vibe reflects that. The lounge itself is compact but there’s an outdoor space that pulls its weight in the summer — several visitor reviews call out the outdoor patio as a highlight even on a drizzly day. Inside, it’s the same coffee and tea program as the downtown location, the same deli-style flower counter, and a small run of prerolls, edibles, and vape carts sold for consumption at the time of purchase within the state’s per-patron caps.
Ownership is the Wells family — same as downtown 4th Avenue and the Soldotna store — so the sourcing is consistent across all three Tufted Puffin locations. A separate drive-thru retail structure at the intersection of Port Avenue and the Seward Highway was approved by the Seward Planning & Zoning Commission in December 2025 and upheld by the Board of Adjustment in early 2026, extending the Wells operation on this parcel further still.
